Crepes provide a tasty if not quite traditiona...

Many entrepreneurs think that selling to the widest possible market is the likeliest path to success, and in many ways this can be true. But take a step back and think a little outside the box, Of course I mean Niche Markets. If you get your tactics right and put in some key research then the rewards can be very lucrative indeed.

Occupying a niche means you won’t be competing with a lot of similar businesses solely on price. And because you will be selling products and services that are customized to the specific needs and behaviours of a select group of people, you can often charge more. Your products and services can serve a market that can’t easily find alternatives.
The process starts with market research: analyze your best potential customers, your competitors, your market’s reactions toward your products and services, and your ability to serve these people so well as to make you their preferred choice.

Market research
If you figure out exactly which group of people you want to reach, and what their needs are, you avoid wasting time and money. Once you know, you can alter your product or services to fit the needs of your target market more closely, and you can craft a message that reflects your business and your customer.

Market research does not require expensive consultants, surveys or focus groups, it can be as simple as asking your best customers the right questions. To determine if a particular niche is right for you, ask yourself these questions:

· Do I have an identifiable target population with similar interests and needs?
· Is the market large enough to support my business?
· Can I tailor my products, services, and business identity to address that market’s particular needs?
· Is my target market fully supported?
· Can I reach my potential customers in a cost-effective manner?

Your niche will give your marketing efforts a more natural, sharper focus. The more you specialize, the more your market will see the value of your services because you speak directly to their unique situation. Assuming your niche is large enough, you can do quite well by becoming a provider of products and services that can’t be found anywhere else.

All the information you need to target and succeed in an ideal marketplace is out there waiting to be found, you can take the guesswork out of building a business. Fine tune your search parameters when doing research, be that person that wants your service or product.

Finding a niche
In advertising terminology, niche market refers to a group of consumers sharing a common background, interests and consequently buying habits. The similarities may be age, race, hobbies, sports, gender, or any feature which creates recognizable and quantifiable preferences that result in spending patterns and habits. The successful marketing campaign is one which effectively speaks to the interests of the individuals in a particular group and capitalizes on those interest in order to sell them something they want or need.

In one form or another, ever business is engaged in niche marketing. Some niches are bigger than others. Since there’s no product that everyone needs, your target audience will tend to be a segment of the larger population. Every business owner is on the eternal hunt for customers. Here are several strategies you can use to get your share.

Create your own niche
Virtually any and every trait, preference, passion, or physical feature can be used to identify and isolate a niche market. You can create a product and a marketing campaign for people who are into adrenalin sports or vitamin junkies who need a different service; the trick is to determine whether the distinctions and identifying features and similarities you’ve identified can create enough volume of spending to justify the effort.

Finding and understanding your niche market will be the key to creating wealth for you in this rapidly expanding marketplace. Your mission is to find your Target, get into their minds to find out what they want, how they think, and how to sell to them. You must establish a brand identity in their minds. It’s a task that requires a change in the way you think, the drive to acquire new skills, and the patience to hold on until it pays off.

What you may want to believe about markets isn’t necessarily the case, the whole world is not your market. Even if everybody uses your product or service, there is a specific group with an intense need or desire for the benefits you offer. Find that “niche” market and commit your efforts to getting business from it. You’ll soon discover how profitable your business can be.

A niche or target market is a group of potential customers who share common characteristics making them especially receptive to your product, service or opportunity.

How To Find A Niche Market

If you’ve been in business for some time you’re probably already targeting one or more niche markets with your sales efforts. If you haven’t or if you’re just starting your business, here are some things you can do to uncover profitable niche markets for your business.

Start by listing all of the benefits offered by your product, service or business opportunity. Be sure you’re listing benefits, not features. You must know the difference between benefits and features to market anything successfully. Build your strategy around this concept and build up your data on trends and statistics, the rest will follow naturally.

Well some of the top marketers make it look easy don’t they, but one of the main attributes to this success is just plain old hard work. It all depends on your work ethic and attitude and what methods you use. So with this in mind let’s look at some of the options available.

Affiliate and SEO Tactics

First and foremost we begin by searching for the product to sell; there are a few choices that you can use like ClickBank, Paydot.com or RegSoft, these are all loaded with thousands of digital products. Make your choice with careful consideration, for this example we want to find a more *niche* orientated product. Once you have made your choice join the affiliate program and check to see what promotional materials are available.

SEO
So you have your product, next comes the SEO which is probably the most important element in the whole process. A good idea is to set the domain name to match your product with the magic word FREE; example: (yourproductforfree.com). You can see what an impact this process makes in the search page itself. People who land on this search page are more likely to click your ad than say a sponsored one. If you look for products that *aren’t as popular* you have a better chance of ranking higher for that product with little competition. Do a bit of research on your keywords with Google keywords tool, put in your exact phrase to see what the competition is like. You will want to see low search results for your exact keywords or phrases to make your campaign more feasible.

Point to remember, make sure your product offers a free version; obviously you will make your commissions when a customer upgrades.

Promotion
You can use a variety of banners and text ads to display on your own sites, blogs, lenses and Hubs.

Do email campaigns, safelist mass-submitter; if you don’t have a list then use a safelist. If you’re not sure what a safe list is then check out this previous post (Do you need a Safelist). Turn out some articles and posts to review the product then submit them to article directory’s’. Do a press release pointing out all of the benefits about the product. Join two or three forums and find a relevant thread that matches your product; spend a little time on generating a good signature box for your bio. Give some thought to the right identity when joining forums; try to be consistent with your brand and U.S.P (unique selling point).

It’s a good idea to use all the power and flexibility of the social networks especially the likes of StumbleUpon and Digg, but also MyBlogLog or FaceBook, look for high traffic networks, do some research on this.

At this point i would mix it up a bit and set up my own minisite to get maximum exposure . If this is beyond your experience don’t worry there are plenty of free ways that you can utilise mini sites by picking the right affiliate program which can help you to set it all up.

Another great resource for your promotions is Squidoo and Hub Pages theses are especially useful, make sure you surf around your category and leave comments on other lenses and Hubs to generate links back to your product. Of course find some popular Blogs like Problogger and CopyBlogger to drop some more comments; these popular blogs have huge traffic. Make good meaningful comments, don’t just leave a one liner, put some thought into it, you’d be surprised on how many bloggers click through your link if they find it interesting.

If you have some cash to spare then i would highly recommend running an ad campaign through the likes of Google Adsense or Yahoo. To give you an idea of a search page, type in *free.com* you will see some examples and variations of the word FREE in the URL and ad body content.

So to sum up the three main areas
Find your niche product
Research your keywords and phrases
Promote through multiple ways

It may seem a lot of hard work but the rewards can more than compensate, stick to your task and never waver, be prepared to change tactics if needed. Keep track of your responses and analyse your traffic and sales. Good luck and prosper.

If you are interested in launching niche sites and want to tap in to this lucrative market then you need a plan of action. Before you start on your first project, ask yourself how you want to approach the task. Do you want to produce a large number of mini sites in order to gain as much ad revenue as possible; or do you want to be hands on and build up your chosen niche in a precise and meaningful way. If you are using PLR articles for your niche site then you will need to re-edit and make the articles your own. Whichever way you choose to tackle it First of all you will need to do a feasibility study on your chosen niche.

Tools to help you decide

First off we need to gather some information about your chosen niche like how competitive this particular niche is. There are many analytical tools available for you to use, one of my favourites is the Firefox add-on called   Search Status: A Search Extension for Firefox and Mozilla this is a great tool for analysing your competition. Search Status is a toolbar extension for Firefox and Mozilla that allows you to see how any website is performing. Designed for the highly specialised needs of search engine marketers, this toolbar provides extensive search-related information about a site, all conveniently displayed in one discreet and compact toolbar. Hot Niche Trends

Continuing on from a previous post (Dependency on single sources of Income) I briefly touched on Niche Sites, in this post I want to go into more depth about the tools you can use. Hot Niche Sites are proven money earners.

Some niches are ultra-competitive and others have little or no real competition; almost any niche you choose will have some level of competition, choose a niche that is not a trend or fad that is likely to be short-lived. You’ll want to find a niche that is current and popular, but look for something that will still be around and equally, if not more, popular in the future. Jumping in to an expanding niche can help you to grow along with the niche. If you can start to build your site before the competition heats up you’ll be ahead of the game when everyone else is following behind you.

Domain Names
You may also want to include some domain name research in your initial legwork. If you’ve attempted to buy a domain name before, you know how difficult it can be to find one that you like and that your visitors will be able to remember. To see some free tools to help you in the process, see Top 10 Domain Tools Search

What’s Hot on the grapevine?
Once you’ve created and launched your new website you’ll want to do some marketing and probably some networking with other likeminded people in your niche. This can prove to be much easier if there are strong community sites discussing niche marketing. This would include forums, social media sites, groups, etc. A lot of the areas of niche marketing are discussed in the many valuable forum sites that exist. I have personally benefited greatly from sites like Warrior Forum, SitePoint and Anthony Blake forum. If you find a niche that has this type of community, you will probably have some real opportunities to market to targeted visitors. If the niche you are considering is too unique to have other sites, you will have a harder time with marketing since you won’t know where to find potential visitors.
Don’t spend too much time in the forums, it’s easy to lose track of time and this will only be counter productive, but you will gain with a wealth of information available. Some forums are run by leading marketers like Anthony Blake; these marketers bring in a lot of quality traffic.

Tools to Help with Your Research
Researching a niche doesn’t have to take days or weeks of researching and studying. The tools that are available online can help you to gather some essential information pretty quickly. Of course you won’t want or need to use all of the resources listed here, but using a combination of a few of them can provide you with enough information to make an intelligent, informed decision.

Google Search - One of the most basic ways to do some research is to simply run searches for words and phrases related to the topic of interest. This will give you a good idea of what sites are highly ranked for and some of the more important search phrases. After doing several searches you may get an idea of how competitive a niche will be. If you’re finding small blogs and websites doing well in the SERPs, chances are you’ll be able to compete.

Google also offers some useful options in the advanced search features. On the advanced search page you’ll see “Page Specific Search.” Here you can enter the URL of a page and Google will find others that are similar. This can be helpful if you know one of the leading websites in a niche and you quickly want to see who Google recognizes as being similar. There is also an option to enter a page URL and see what other pages link to it. Google excludes many links in its results, so this option can be useful, but it certainly won’t show you every inbound link to a page.

Google Trends - If you’re looking to see how much interest a topic currently has online, Google Trends is a great tool. It will not only show you what’s hot now, but it will help you to track trends. The front page of Google Trends will show you the top 10 hottest trends from today. Additionally, if you click on the link for “more hot trends” you’ll see a list of the top 100 trends. You can even change the date to go back and see hot trends from past days, and you can subscribe to an RSS feed for the hottest trends.

Yahoo Buzz Index - The Yahoo Buzz Index will show you what’s hot now, and provide you with some basic information. The front page, of course, provides you with some information on the topics getting the most buzz, and there are also categories for actors, movies, music, sports, tv, and video games. Story’s include links to a number of searches as it details the increases these phrases have experienced in the past 2 weeks.

Google Alerts - Another tool from Google, Alerts allows you to set up an email notification regarding a particular search phrase. You simply enter any search phrase that you want to track, the type (news, blogs, web, comprehensive, video, or groups), how often you want to be emailed, and your address. Say you set it to send weekly emails. Each week you’ll get a message with new pages (or videos) that have been indexed by Google for the search phrase you’ve chosen. It doesn’t guarantee that the pages themselves are new, but they are new to Google.

Google News - Depending on the topic you are researching, a news site like Google News can very helpful. Google News tracks leading stories on what they consider to be news websites and blogs (over 4,500 sources). You’ll see the top stories on the front page, but you can also visit category pages and run searches specifically news. The Google News search only returns items that come from the news sources, as opposed to a general Google search.
One of the most useful features of Google News is that once you’ve done a search, you can subscribe to an RSS feed that will give you news for that search term. To subscribe to a feed, scroll down to the bottom of the left sidebar you’ll see links for RSS and Atom feeds.

Google Blog Search - In addition to the standard search, a blog search can help to show more current results. With the blog search you’ll see how recent each blog post displayed was published. This will give you a good idea of how much is currently being written and published on a subject. You can also subscribe to an RSS feed for any search phrase.

Technorati - Technorati will give you similar information to what you’ll find with a Google blog search. If you’re just looking to see how much is being written on a topic, you can search and subscribe to a feed for the search.
Additionally, you can learn a little bit more about the popularity of particular blogs. Technorati has a ranking system based on authority, which is a measure of how many other blogs link to a particular blog. A lower number is good for the ranking, while a higher number is good for the authority. To see this, simply do a search for the URL of a blog. The search results will show all of the inbound links to the blog as recognized by Technorati.

Techmeme - If the niche you’re researching is related to technology, Techmeme is another resource. Techmeme tracks the top tech-related news stories at any given moment. And of course you can subscribe to their RSS feed which will send you the top stories. Techmeme can be used to find the stories and topics that are getting the most attention currently.

Tailrank is somewhat similar to Techmeme in that it tracks hot stories, but it’s not only focused on technology. Tailrank also shows how many blogs are linking to a particular story, which can also be a gauge of how much interest exists for a topic. With Tailrank you can do a search and have the option to subscribe to a feed for the search.

PRWeb is the leading source for press release distribution. On their site you can see recent press releases. Another similar site is PRBuzz. This is a great insight into what Industry and mainstream business are talking about.

With these tools you’ll be able to get a good idea of the potential of a particular niche.

Are there other tools you use or other things that you look for in a niche? Please feel free to leave your comments, Thanks’ for reading.

B-Casual Friends

Niche Dating Site! Why Not.

CasualFriends.com
-the best dating site for short-term relationship and intimate encounters in the world!

Since I am a Niche Junkie my latest project B-Casual Friends.com a Niche Dating Site should be a bit of a challenge. So first of all let’s take a closer look at the site features. When you arrive on the front page you amor B-Casual Friends are met with a nice clean modern look, the navigation is uncomplicated and it is easy to find what you are looking for. To put you at ease there is an excellent FAQ page which covers every aspect from frequently asked payment questions to privacy policy.

The B-Casual Friends.com FAQs Page has a nice and easy click and dropdown Q & A interface which is easy to navigate and answers pretty much most questions that I would be asking. Other options on the navigation include sections for Discreet videos, Verify Photo and age, Verify Occupation, Enlarge Circle of friends 10 times, Chat/Who is online, and Daily Discreet News; these options are for members only.

You can see what discussions are available from the discreet forums.

Blog is your own daily or regularly updated page here. It can tell people more about yourself and real life experiences with people you’ve met here! It is a great way to find out more about others by reading blogs or comments. This option in B-Casual Friends.com is on site and navigates through all other members’ blogs.

So to really get a better impression of B-CasualFrinds.com I signed up as a free member and registered an account (you can always upgrade later) the usual information is required. So input your gender age and ethnicity along with your chosen username (not the same as your email) your height, country and postal zip; check the I am 18+ box and hit the Continue and have fun Button.

The next page takes you to The Last Step of Free Registration which continues on about your profile and what you are looking for, I suppose you could compare it to a filtering down system. The whole process can be as quickas you want, but I suggest taking your time with it for better results. (You can always get an idea what to write from their suggestions)

At B-Casual Friends.com If you are serious about meeting and chatting then you can set up what they call (Meet me for Coffee) this is where you set a price in USD to meet other members who you are interested in. A nice intro idea to break the ice and chat away (upload a photo for better results)

Once you have your profile set you then wait for approval, you can browse further sections including stats and tools to interact with other members. You can also edit or update your profile at any time. Approval is pretty quick, once approved you have the freedom of the whole site, “You will at times find yourself surfing outside the B-Casual Friends.com website where there is no control over content”.

I know overall that the dating Industry online is probably at saturation levels with thousands of sites online; so targeting a more niche orientated part of this Industry makes sense. If you are a member of any big social network site like FaceBook then you will have seen the many dating companies selling their wares. One of the biggest drivers of the Internet is social interaction so I see this niche as a useful part of my online activities. I plan to start a blog to compliment B-Casual Friends.com and to expand the niche.

If you’re interested you can start your own Niche Dating Site like B-Casual Friends.com, look for the Private Label Program link! It is very easy to participate in the multi-million dollar online dating industry. You just need to sign up and put a banner or text link with a special tracking ID on your website. All this can be done within 5 minutes!

Then you will get $2 for each profile or $30 for each paid member you refer to us. Your sales will be recorded forever!
