You need a medium that is immediate, personal, trackable and talks with those who are anxious to hear from you. That medium is email marketing. It is the strongest and fastest growing marketing tool available today. Big companies are moving money away from TV, print and radio and moving it into email campaigns. Why? Because it works.

Consider this: Youve got mail !

82% of email users have purchased a product because of an email offer.

US online agency Doubleclick predicts a rise of 17% in email marketing budgets in the US. TV, print and radio and predicted to decrease.

Microsoft sends out more than 20 million email marketing pieces every month.

Permission based email marketing campaigns can provide marketers with reports on their markets they only dreamed of before. This allows them to cut down on wastage and niche more meaningful offers with the obvious benefit of better returns for effort and investment.

A Price Waterhouse Coopers survey found 83 percent of Internet users felt email was their primary reason for using the Internet. Given the choice, an overwhelming majority turned down books, radios, and televisions in favor of an Internet connection with email on a desert island.

Ask a different research company and you will get a different answer for the average response rate of opt-in email campaigns. Jupiter Communications will tell you 5 to 15 percent. Forrester will tell you 14 to 22 percent. Ask a different email marketer and get a different answer. Some are getting only 3 percent and some are getting 40 percent. But they all agree on three things: It’s not very expensive, it’s not very hard, and it’s got a better return on investment than other marketing and advertising techniques.

Quit trying to win a new game with old weapons. Build an email list, watch it grow even bigger, use it to share useful information and watch your profits grow.

Finally an advertising form that tells you what your customers think of you and what’s important to them. You have to do this.

First up I would like to invite fellow bloggers and affiliate marketers to join me in this discussion and give me your honest opinion about affiliate marketing. Oops that sounds scary! This article assumes that you are fairly new to affiliate marketing, so bear that in mind! So without further ado;

Lets clear up all the misconceptions about affiliate marketing, we have all seen those squeeze pages proclaiming how easy it is to make tons of  profit in no time at all. And the so called gurus want us to believe that their program is the best thing since sliced bread and will blow the competition away.

“The Clock is Ticking Buy NOW”
“This offer won’t stay at this price for long”

The list goes on and on!!!! To top all that if you subscribe to any number of newsletters concerning marketing then you should be an expert on sales pitch copyright.

Anybody who has tried marketing a product, isn’t going to get rich overnight doing affiliate marketing. There is just way too much competition for this to happen. Affiliate marketing isn’t an easy cash source that’s going to just drop bundles of loot into your lap with no effort. You will find the affiliate opportunities that work the best are the ones that you find yourself. If done properly, like testing and researching your market and customers, or networking with business development.

For instance take free traffic, it’s not completely over but it is fading fast, when you consider the pace of the Internet it’s not surprising. You can work hard to create pages that score high in the search engines and put lots of graft into your site, but by paying for clicks and focusing on Google and Overture (Yahoo) you will have the top three positions on all search engines that really count on the Internet.

Without doubt you need to be at the top end of Google and Yahoo to really generate traffic. These search engines will drive quality targeted traffic as long as you pay close attention to your PPC (Pay Per Click) strategy.

Yahoo, and especially Google are the best key drivers of qualified traffic on the Internet. Pay per click search engines let you quickly test drive different affiliate offers and new landing pages on your site. You can stay away from top competitive keywords for $1 to $2 per click. Niche marketing on Yahoo and Google works but you need to get the right niche and do your keyword and phrase research.

Instead of just sending traffic away and hoping for the best, you should have your own email list to which you can send multiple offers. Sending offers to your own email list is the true way to build freedom and residual income. You can achieve this by:

· Using subscription forms on your web site

· Using co-registrations or co-op marketing campaigns

· Buying email lists (Safelists or specifically targeted lists)

Effective affiliate marketing involves paying for traffic in one shape or another, you just can’t get away from this.

To accelerate your income, you need to invest wisely in advertising and get the most mileage out of every one of them.

So what do you think! im sure there are thousands; scratch that millions of affiliate marketers and bloggers who have some strong opinions on this matter.  So leave a comment”"i_034 The Hard Truth about Affiliate MarketingIf there are any successfull affialtes out there, then please post your opinion (yes i know there are some out there)

Conclusion ;  I think in the end it all comes down to hard work and parting with some cash, especially on the promotion side, and depending of course on your own resources. There are many other equations that come into the picture including good content whether it be a blog or website. And of course having a plan of action and strategy is absolutely vital if you want to survive in this cut-throat business.

Eslite Bookstore in Taichung Chung-yo Departme...*Image via Wikipedia*

eZine publishers today use any one or more of the 3 most commonly used eZine formats which I am about to describe to you in this article.

Ultimately, you can decide which format is the best choice for you, though each winning format has its pros and cons.

The text eZine is the most commonly published. The advantage of this format is that other than writing, you do not require any special skill to use a Word or Notepad program.

While the HTML eZine format requires a certain degree of HTML skills on your part, you can add more sophisticated features to your eZine issues, making them more appealing to your subscriber thus increases your readership value, something that text eZines do not have.

You can decorate your eZine format, change your fonts, include pictures, and more. However, the drawback often faced by HTML eZines is that they often get trapped into spam filters before they reach their subscribers’ inboxes.

The third and least used among the 3 formats is the PDF eZine. Publishing your eZine in PDF format can consume a lot of time and effort on your part but often make up in quality readership

Due to the commitment, PDF eZines are usually published on a monthly basis. The great part, though, is that you can put in your affiliate links in your PDF eZine issue and allow your subscribers to pass the eZine issue around.

Given the choices, however, you do not have to necessarily choose strictly one eZine format, as some eZine publishers today do publish in more than one format.

002_11 Building Opt-in Mailing Lists

This post continues our optin email series, affilaite links included.

E-mails are being used to distribute newsletters, promotional mails, and lots more besides. How then would you be able to round up email addresses to send those marketing mails you have? This is where your opt-in list comes in handy. Emails are replacing regular mails from the post office, have been since the birth of the Internet. Not only because it is cheaper, since you don’t need to buy a stamp, it’s also definitely faster.

An opt-in list is a directory of email addresses that you can send those emails to. Though it seems to be easy to find email addresses, if you are looking at thousands in numbers, it is going to be hard. Besides, you have to determine the recipient of the email. You wouldn’t want your readers if they were mostly male receiving lipstick reviews, would you? (Apart from our more flamboyant friends of course)
A good opt-in list should include the profile of the email address owner. Here are some tips on how to create a comprehensive opt-in list for your target market.

Create your online presence
Creating a website is made very easy nowadays. A lot of programs are milling about assisting regular computer users in making and maintaining websites in a really simple way. There are some really easy startup website creators like Jimdo that even a two year old could master. Several web hosting sites are available too. Some are even free. If you have a site of your own, you can ask visitors to register with you or sign your guest book as they leave. You just have to have your own website trust me on this!!

Set up a promotion or a freebie
Not all the best things in life are free, as they say, but you can easily give something away. If you are a bit short and don’t have anything, then sign up to the numerous JVs or GiveAway events. As an example you can see this done all over the web. Free screensavers, free games, free software applications. And what do they need from you? They just ask for an email address, your name and a little something more about you. Then you just check the box and away you go.

Write and write some more
Extend your reach with articles, and post to the top directories. Make sure you leave your link back to your product via your optin form. Use a funnel system to draw your visitor to your optin signup form , if  you have your website or blog set up correctly i.e. you don’t want to ram the signup right in there face, be a little more subtle. E-mail tips

Make an easy opt-out option
For those people who join your opt-in list, along the way some may want to opt out. People will be more wary of joining your optin list if they don’t see an unsubscribe link clearly marked. Its good practice to conform with all the email and privacy regulations, the fact is you won’t last long if you don’t follow the rules.

Joining Forces
In order to reap the most benefit from your email campaigns consider joining up with a business partner. You will find in today’s affiliate marketing world that alliances are a valued way to increase ROI (return of investment). Joint ventures are a prime example of this practice, you will find many likeminded people, so don’t worry about not finding anybody.

Using offline Sources
Get yourself out there and start some projects like raffles, check with your local supermarket and newspapers. If you do a little market research and look for people that are more inclined to join mailing lists for sweepstakes and other popular pastimes like bingo, you might be surprised at the response. You can place an email address opt-in part in the raffle entry to add to your list. This way, you’d also know the buying preferences of the participants if you mark the entries systemically.

Set Your Budget
Creating an opt-in list can entail a lot of work and costs. You should outline how much you will spend in creating an opt-in list. People in your opt-in lists are sales prospects. They are those interested in a certain product that you may be selling. Obtaining an optimal opt-in list will boost your sales, so these tools are undoubtedly essential for your campaign.

Get an opt-in list now or build one. Either way, you are reaching the people that can be your loyal customers for a long time!

If you want to find out more about building your opt-in list whether you are a beginner or are looking for partners then check out this link
